Important Note
At this time, only organizations with the Apply Connect integration can post jobs with Remote locations. If your organization has the Recruiter System Connect (RSC) integration without Apply Connect, remotely located requisitions will fail to sync to LinkedIn. In those cases, an Office with a valid address location must be assigned to the requisition. LinkedIn does not support State/Province-wide posting locations at this time.
Apply Connect Features Available to Organizations
Certain features of the Apply Connect integration are only available to clients who have a LinkedIn Recruiter License. Below is an outline of which features are available to you, depending on whether or not you have a LinkedIn Recruiter license.

Enabling Apply Connect in ClearCompany
To learn how to enable the Apply Connect feature in your ClearCompany account, follow the instructions provided in our Setup Guide.
Automated Job Posting
Requisitions created in ClearCompany can be synced to your LinkedIn company page and free job posts (LinkedIn Limited Listings). Review the tabs below for more details about this feature.
Choosing to Post a Job to LinkedIn
On a per-requisition basis, you can declare whether or not the job should be posted on LinkedIn. By default, selecting to post the requisition publicly (Public Job Board) will include the LinkedIn option.
-
Navigate to the Requisition in question (Tools -> Recruiting or use the search menu in the top right of your homepage). (click image to enlarge)
-
Select the Details tab on the requisition.
-
Select the Job Boards tab.
- Click the 'Edit Posting Options' button found in the top left-hand corner of the page.
-
Under the Public Job Board option, you should see a LinkedIn option with a toggle located on the far right. Toggle On to have the job created on LinkedIn and toggle Off to prevent/remove a post on LinkedIn.
-
You will also see an option to select multiple job locations. At this time, LinkedIn can only be posted to one location; the default location will be the location where LinkedIn jobs are posted.
Important Note:
In order to select the LinkedIn Job Board option, you must also choose to post the requisition publicly by toggling on the 'Public Job Board'. At this time, you cannot deselect the Public Job Boards option and only post to LinkedIn.
Posting Remote Jobs to LinkedIn
Job Posts on LinkedIn can have a (Remote) tag listed in their location when synced from ClearCompany through Apply Connect. LinkedIn does still require that a valid Zip Code and Country Code are listed for each job, even those that have Remote posting locations.
To send a Remote job to LinkedIn, follow the steps below when creating your requisition in ClearCompany:
- Ensure you have an Office location in ClearCompany with an address listed.
- When creating a requisition, assign an Office with an address location to the requisition.
- When under posting options, you will see Location for Job Boards (US), you can select Remote. Note: LinkedIn does not support State/Province-wide posting locations at this time.
Posting to LinkedIn Job Slots
For clients who have the LinkedIn Job Wrapping service on their LinkedIn Recruiter contract and have the Apply Connect integration enabled, jobs created in ClearCompany can sync to the organization's available Job Slots in LinkedIn.
Job Wrapping Service
Job Wrapping is a service provided through LinkedIn Recruiter that allows you to prioritize which open jobs are automatically posted from your Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or career site into LinkedIn job slots. For more information on this service, review Job Wrapping through LinkedIn Recruiter.
Note: If you are not a Job Wrapping customer or have Job Wrapping without the Apply Connect integration enabled, synced jobs will be posted to a Company's Career page and LinkedIn Limited Listings (free job posts visible to candidates conducting a job search)
On-site Apply (Embedded Applications)
ClearCompany applications can be embedded directly within the LinkedIn job post for a seamless application process. Completed application details will sync to the candidate record in ClearCompany for Recruiters to view.
How Onsite Apply Looks on the LinkedIn Job Post
For jobs created with the embedded ClearCompany application process, you will see the apply button say 'Easy Apply' on the LinkedIn job post, see below.
Review the tabs below for more details about this feature.
Onsite Apply Requisition Settings
On-site Apply will either be configurable on a per-requisition basis or applied to all requisitions, depending on whether your organization has an integrated LinkedIn Recruiter account.
- For Non-LinkedIn Recruiter clients, posting a job on LinkedIn and embedding an application are directly connected. This means that all jobs selected to be posted on LinkedIn will have their applications embedded. At this time, a requisition cannot be sent to LinkedIn without an embedded application.
- For LinkedIn Recruiter clients with the Recruiter System Connect (RSC) integration also enabled, posting a job on LinkedIn and embedding applications are not connected. On a per-requisition basis, you can choose if the job should have an embedded application when posted on LinkedIn.
Please note that, depending on how your ClearCompany Applications are configured, some applications may not be supported for embedding.
Application types that are not currently supported:
Those with embedded forms, videos, third-party assessment tests, or applications in multiple languages. If the application is not supported for Onsite Apply, you will see a Notice in ClearCompany when choosing to post the job on LinkedIn. Also, the job posting in LinkedIn will redirect the candidate to complete the full ClearCompany application in a new tab.
NOTE:
LinkedIn offers its own Easy Apply feature, which is not connected to your ClearCompany application process. For job posts using Easy Apply through ClearCompany, you will see a "Powered by ClearCompany" message after clicking the Easy Apply button. See example below.
Application Formatting Displayed in LinkedIn
- Certain questions like candidate contact information, resume and cover letter, work experience, education experience, and voluntary self-identification questions, will be grouped. Other questions will be ordered exactly as they are in the ClearCompany application.
- Applications with multiple pages are not currently supported. All questions will be listed on one screen for the candidate to complete.
- Two-Step applications: Only the initial, or Part One, of a Two-Step application will be sent to LinkedIn. Part two of the application can still be sent directly to the candidate from within ClearCompany if you choose to move forward with them.
LinkedIn in-ATS Widget
This widget is only available to LinkedIn Recruiter customers and provides the option to view applicant highlights within ClearCompany, including the candidate's skills that align with the requisition. Review the tabs below for more details about this feature.
Applicant Highlights on the Candidates List
When viewing the Candidates List within ClearCompany, candidates who apply through Onsite Apply in LinkedIn will appear with a LinkedIn In-ATS widget (see below).
Hover over the widget for a snapshot summary of the candidate's experience and any relevant skills. Note: LinkedIn determines the relevant skills to display, based on the written job description for the position.
In-ATS Profile within the ClearCompany Candidate Profile
For LinkedIn Recruiter clients, the ClearCompany candidate profile will now have a 'LinkedIn Recruiter' tab to display relevant information from the applicant's LinkedIn profile.
LinkedIn InMails
If you've connected your personal LinkedIn Recruiter Account with your ClearCompany user account, you will be able to view historical InMail messages sent to candidates applying to your requisitions. To connect your accounts for the first time, please follow this guide: LinkedIn: Connecting your LinkedIn Recruiter Account with your Personal ClearCompany User Account.
Applicant Notifications
Applicants are able to receive generalized updates from LinkedIn that inform them of the status of their application, once triggered by a Recruiter's activity in ClearCompany. This feature is only available to LinkedIn Recruiter customers, is optional, and can be disabled within the Apply Connect integration. Review the tabs below for more details about this feature.
When Applicant Notifications are enabled, they will be applied to all jobs using Onsite Apply. The following actions in ClearCompany will trigger an applicant notification:
- Application Viewed
- Resume Viewed
- Job Closed
- Application Rejected
Note:
Application Rejected notifications will be sent if your application includes Pre-screen/Knockout Questions and the candidate fails the pre-screening rules you set in place.
Applicant Notifications from LinkedIn can be enabled/disabled on the Apply Connect integration at any time. Follow the steps below to make a change to your organization's Applicant Notification settings:
- In ClearCompany, navigate to Tools > Setup > LinkedIn Integration.
- On the Statuses page, click the blue "Choose Package" button in the top-right, in order to make edits to the integration.
- Scroll down to the Apply Package section and click the 'View Integrations' dropdown. Locate the Applicant Notifications setting within the dropdown menu.
- Check the box to turn on/enable the Applicant Notifications.
- Uncheck the box to turn off LinkedIn Applicant Notifications.
- Scroll back up to the top of the page and click the Save Changes button.
Apply Connect FAQs
- After selecting to post a requisition to the LinkedIn job board within ClearCompany, a sync to LinkedIn to create the job post will be attempted.
- If successful, you can find your jobs on the Jobs section of your LinkedIn Company page.
- If the sync fails, you will receive an error message indicating that the job post was not created. More information on sync failures can be found in: Troubleshooting LinkedIn Requisition Posting and Candidate Sync Errors.
The LinkedIn Company ID is a string of numbers, usually 6 to 9 digits long, that is unique to your company. Steps on how to find your Company Code can be found in this article: LinkedIn Company Codes.
- For Non-LinkedIn Recruiter clients, all requisitions chosen to be posted on LinkedIn will be created with Onsite (Easy) Apply as the default apply process. This setting cannot be edited.
- For LinkedIn Recruiter clients (who have the LinkedIn RSC integration also enabled), Onsite Apply can optionally be enabled on a per-requisition basis within the ClearCompany Posting Options page.
Follow the steps listed below to edit the Onsite Apply setting for your requisitions:
- In ClearCompany, navigate to the requisition in question and open the Details tab.
- Open the Job Boards tab and click the Edit Posting Options button in the top-left corner.
- Within the LinkedIn job board option, you will see a checkbox option titled "Candidates may complete the application on LinkedIn".
- Check the box to enable the Onsite (Easy) Apply process on the LinkedIn job post.
- Uncheck the box to disable Onsite Apply. By doing so, candidates will instead be redirected to complete the full application process through ClearCompany.
- Click the Save Updates at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
