Automatic Feeds

We post your job requisitions to Indeed, Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter, Monster, and LinkUp for free on your behalf.

Automatic Feed F.A.Q.
  1. These are non-sponsored postings. If you wish to sponsor postings to Indeed or Glassdoor, you will have the option to do so in the next step (Sponsored Posting).
  2. Please note: Free (non-sponsored) automated posting to Ziprecruiter will only post jobs directly to Ziprecruiter - it will not post to any of Ziprecruiter's partner boards. If you want to push the job to any of its partners, you will need to sponsor a posting (see below).
  3. These feeds will be turned on automatically when you go live. If you don't wish to post positions out to these boards, please inform your implementation manager and they will disable the feeds.
  4. The system will know to post to the feeds when you toggle the position to post to the Public Job Board (shown above).

Basics: Post to your company website, internal sites, and free feeds

Post to your Company Website (Public Job Board)
  1. Click the slider on the right-hand side of the screen next to Public Job Board. You will see the slider highlighted in green.
  2. Optional: To toggle when the job posts, select the dropdown that reads "Immediately" and select the appropriate time.
  3. Note: Until you click Open and Post at the bottom of the screen, the job will be listed as "Not Posted."Public Job Board.png
Post the position internally (Intranet, internal career site, or Openings in ClearCompany)
  1. Click the slider on the right-hand side of the screen next to "Internal Job Board." You will see the slider highlighted in green.
  2. Optional: To toggle when the job posts, select the dropdown that reads "Immediately" and select the appropriate time.Internal.png

Statewide and Nationwide Job Posting

If you are posting a job that is not based in a specific office location, you can indicate that the position is available statewide or nationwide. This is done with the Job Postings: 1-to-Many Locations.

Instructions for Statewide and Nationwide Posting
  1. Navigate to the Job Boards posting options within the details of the requisition. Click Edit Posting Options.Posting Options.png
  2. Under Location(s) for Job Boards (US), you have the option for Add State/Province or Remote.Add Province.png
    1. Select Remote, "Remote" posting counts as one location and is supported only for the country where the requisition's office is located. Remote postings will be sent to job boards and appear on career sites with the country they are associated with.Remote.png
    2. Select a State/Province for positions that should only be posted within a specific state or province.
3rd Party Job Board Considerations

Most 3rd party job boards do not support advertising statewide or nationwide postings as a part of their free job postings but do offer it as a premium offering. If a state or nationwide candidate pool is important to your advertising strategy, you may want to consider sponsoring a posting. Job boards change these policies frequently, reach out directly to specific job boards to inquire about their free or paid offerings, and if they support international advertisements.

If you post a statewide or nationwide requisition to a job board that does not support this feature, the posting will automatically default to sharing the city, state, and zip code of the office associated with the requisition.

Presently, Indeed is the only job board that supports statewide listings through the free posting feed. No job board supports free nationwide feeds at this time.

Company Career Site Considerations

ClearCompany-powered company career sites support statewide and nationwide postings.

  • The Embedded Career site widget will show only one job listing with all possible locations displayed

    • Jobs will be filterable and searchable by location

    • In job details for a single job, all locations are listed

  • All other career sites (standalone and iFrame) will show the work locations in the job posting/description, not the list view.

    • These sites will show a job posting associated with each location. Therefore if a Nurse Practitioner requisition has 5 locations associated with it, 5 listings for an NP will appear.

    • If a job posting is remote or statewide the location column will appear “blank".

  • If your career site is configured to display job location using the "name of the Office", then the name of the office that you associate with the posting will appear on the career site. For the best career site display, we suggest creating a dedicated office named Nationwide to use for nationwide postings. Statewide offices will need an affiliated address and zip code.

  • If your career site is configured to display job location via city and state, then statewide postings will display with the listed state initials and nationwide postings will display without a listed city or state.
  • Contact support@clearcompany.com if you would like your career site toggled between City/State or Office name as a method of displaying job location.
Reporting Considerations

All standard reports that include requisition location will account for the Requisition: 1-to-Many Location requisitions to have multiple posting locations. The new additions will be Applied Location and Posted Location. Anyone with User Admin permission within an organization can set up an office. For instructions on how to do so, please refer to the Offices article.

Automated Sponsored Posting

You also have the option to make automated sponsored postings to any of our partner job boards.

This will create a sponsored posting on the selected boards for 30 days. You will be able to edit the requisition posting options to renew the posting if necessary.

Sponsored Posting
  1. On the posting page, select the job boards you wish to create sponsored postings on.Screen_Shot_2017-06-20_at_4.05.11_PM.png
  2. You can always add additional boards later, but you will not be able to disable a posting on one of these boards to receive a refund.
  3. When you're done, click POST JOB & CHECKOUT.
  4. If you selected sponsored boards to post to, you may be directed to confirm and add additional information for these boards on the next screen (See Example below):Screen_Shot_2017-06-20_at_4.06.24_PM.png
  5. The information requested (such as industry or position type) will depend on the requirements of the job boards in question.
  6. Confirm your payment.Picture9.png
  7. This is the final step in the process- make sure you are all set before clicking Finish. Once you are done, your sponsored postings will be created.
  • Haven't set up a credit card yet? No problem. A button will appear prompting you to input credit card information that will tie to your account for future postings.
  • Want to use a card that hasn't been loaded into your account yet or need to update card details? Click the link that reads "Click here to manage your credit cards."

Advanced: Manual Posting to Third Party Boards

Follow the instructions below to post your job requisitions manually to third-party job boards. We refer to this process as Manual Posting with Custom Source Tracking. It is comprised of three steps:

  1. Setting Up Custom Candidate Sources
  2. Adding Candidate Sources to Your Requisitions
  3. Manually Posting to Job Boards
Setting Up Custom Candidate Sources

The first step in manual posting is the creation of your custom candidate sources. Each client (and sometimes each requisition) has a unique set of job boards that they post to. You can customize your list of job boards to ensure accuracy when running candidate source reports.

  1. First, head to Candidate Sources under Recruiting Setup in the setup menu. Screen_Shot_2017-03-27_at_3.01.11_PM.png
  2. Click Add Row. Type in the name of a job board you will be posting to in the blank box that appears.
  3. Repeat step 2 to continue adding the names of your job boards until you have a list that you're satisfied with. Don't worry- you'll be able to edit this list at any time, and you can add as many candidate sources as you'd like.
  4. When you're finished click Submit Changes.
Adding Candidate Sources to Your Requisitions

The second step of manual posting is adding the candidate sources you created to your requisitions. Please note: selecting custom candidate sources on a requisition will not automatically post to these boards.

  1. Head to Requisitions under Recruiting in the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Requisition you would like to edit.
  3. Click Job Boards and Edit Posting Options.
  4. Select the job boards you would like to post to under Enable Custom Source Links.
  5. You can also enable all custom sources on this requisition by clicking Turn all on in the upper right-hand corner of this widget.Screenshot 2024-02-13 at 10.30.39 AM.png
Manually Posting to Job Boards

Once you have made your selection (and you can always change this later) - you can use the Copy Link function to retrieve your custom source URLs. When a custom source link is enabled using the steps above, you will see a Copy Link button appear next to its slider.

  1. This will copy the link to your clipboard. You'll need it in just a minute!
    • If you paste the link into your browser and hit Enter, you'll be taken to the application process for this requisition. Try it out!
    • These links were generated based on the selection you made on the Posting Details page. Each link leads back to the application process for this requisition.
  2. To create a job board posting on one of these sites, copy the corresponding candidate source link using the Copy Link button, make your posting, and when you are telling candidates where to apply, paste the link you copied.
  3. Rinse and repeat: Repeat this process to post to other job boards.
    • Example: If I wanted to post this requisition on Angel List, I would copy the Angel List link above, make my posting as I would normally, and paste the link I copied in ClearCompany in the Angel List posting, wherever I am prompting candidates to apply.
    • When your candidates find the post on each job board, they will show up in the requisition inbox for this position and be tagged as coming from the correct source.

Important: While each link leads back to the same place (application for this requisition), each is uniquely tagged. This means that when an applicant completes an application using the custom candidate source link, they will be tagged as coming from that custom source. In other words, when a candidate completes an application using the Angel List link above, the system automatically tags the candidate as having applied from Angel List. This means that you'll want to be diligent about making sure all of your links are being posted to the right corresponding job boards.

Advanced: XML Feeds

What if you have a contract with a job board (inventory) that you would like to keep and post to automatically? This is where XML feeds come in.

We give job boards like Indeed, LinkedIn, or Glassdoor access to this feed so they can take all of the pertinent requisition information in the feed and translate it into matching postings in their own system.

Each job board is going to pull this information from its own unique XML feed that ClearCompany provides. Every board has its own feed because each board requires different information to create a posting - or the same information, but in a different format or order.

How does it work?

An XML feed is a feed from our system that contains all of your job posting information that we can send to a third-party board. The board would be able to scrape that information from the feed and translate it into a posting in their system automatically. In short, this allows ClearCompany to automatically send job posting info to a board so you don't have to post each job manually.

When is an XML feed used?

This is a good option if you have a contract or inventory with a specific board and wish to automate posting too (and don't see it as an option under Sponsored Posting).

How does it get set up?
Your implementation manager will be able to send the feed to the job board and they will perform development work to scrape the information.
Is there a price?
If the job board is able to read and use the standard XML feed from our system, there is no cost associated. If we have to customize the feed in any way, there will be a cost associated with the development work.
How do I know if this is a good option?
Some job boards do not accept XML feeds (even customized feeds). You will need to check with the job board to see if this is an option.

This sounds like a good option. How do I proceed?

Speak with your Implementation and/or Customer Success Manager(s). Let them know you are interested in setting up an XML feed with a job board and they will be able to discuss options with you. You will also want to check with the job board in question to see if they accept XML feeds.

XML Feed F.A.Q.

How often do they pull the information from the XML Feed?

This depends on the board - most perform the XML feed "scrape" of new data at least once every 24 hours. Some perform this action every hour or every four hours.

Can I have an XML feed for any job board or just the ones you partner with?
This depends on the board. It's likely a job board you're working with is capable of scraping data from an XML feed - if this is the case, it's also highly likely that we can create one for them. You'll want to check with the board itself to see if this is possible on their end first.
What if you have a contract with a job board (inventory) that you would like to keep and post to automatically
This is where XML feeds come in. You can provide the XML to the job board and it will post your requisitions automatically.
I have a custom XML feed set up with ClearCompany and a job board currently. If I have issues with it, who do I talk to?
If you run into any trouble with your XML feed (you've posted a job but it's not appearing on the job board within a reasonable time frame, for instance), you will want to reach out to our support team at support@clearcompany.com. You may need to reach out to your job board's support team as well.
