The Learning platform QR Codes can be used to give your learners quick access on their mobile devices to specific content in their Learning by ClearCompany library. QR Codes are a great option to use if your learners will be accessing content from a mobile device and/or on-site without access to a computer. Use Cases for QR Codes

QR Codes can be an effective tool for getting your learners quick and easy access to their learning materials. Here are some example use cases for this functionality:

• Manufacturing or On-site Learning: QR codes can be placed on machinery or in corresponding work areas to help ensure learners are certified prior to operation.
• Instructor-led Training: QR codes can be displayed during live trainings so learners have access to documents and supporting materials that correspond with the class content.
• Paid Training Content: QR codes lower the barrier to entry for learners who need to pay for content by making it easier for them to access the paid offerings and increasing purchase rates.

Generating a QR Code for a Learning Object

1. From your ClearCompany dashboard, click Tools, then click Learning.
2. Click Learning Objects.
   
3. Click Manage Objects.
   
4. Click the “edit” pencil icon next to the object you would like to generate a QR code for.
5. On the right-hand side, click Generate QR Code.
6. In the modal that appears, click Download to download a copy of the QR code to your desktop.
   
7. You can print/place this QR code image in any documentation or location for easy access. When a learner scans the QR code using the camera on their mobile device, it will take them directly to the learning object in your Learning instance.

Note:

Content access and login restrictions apply; depending on how you have set up user access to your Learning site and ClearCompany account, your learner may have to log in before being able to access the learning object.

Who can retrieve QR codes for learning objects? When are they available?

QR Codes are automatically available for Learning Administrators during the creation, activation, and editing of any Learning Object.

Can QR Codes be downloaded and printed outside of the Learning platform?

Yes! QR codes can be downloaded and printed outside of the Learning platform. They can be printed or placed like an image or picture file into other documents, presentations, web pages, etc.

I am scanning a QR Code but I can’t access the learning object it links to.

Depending on how your Learning instance is set up, you may have to log into ClearCompany and/or your Learning platform in order to access the contents of the link. Additionally, if the object is removed or deactivated, the QR code will no longer work.

Can QR codes link to an object within the mobile application or within the web browser?

The QR code will only open the object within the web browser.
