What is Cronofy?
We use Cronofy as part of our tech stack to power the back-end connection to sync calendars within our platform. We moved away from an in-house calendar integration to Cronofy as a company because we felt they could do this better than we could. Calendar integration is all they do and they devote all their resources to doing so efficiently, quickly, without errors, and maintaining high security.
How does ClearCompany integrate calendars using Cronofy?
You do not have to deal with any 3rd parties as we've done all the work to make the integration seamless end to end - you don't have to talk to or sign up with anyone outside of ClearCompany. As of right now, the solution gives full mailbox access to Cronofy. It is not possible for us to turn off our integration with Cronofy or modify the permissions that it requires to function.
General Information
What information is pulled from the calendar in ClearCompany?
Our calendar integration syncs entire events, including name, description, and attendees. When an event is marked as private, the details of which are only visible to yourself in the ClearCompany UI and are simply listed as busy for others through, say our interview setup calendars.
How often is the sync occurring?
Syncing is done in near real-time, with updates to your calendar showing up in ClearCompany after a very short wait (usually seconds).
Can Cronofy or ClearCompany alter the Outlook calendar without email invitations?
We do request permission to be able to access and modify calendar events on a user's behalf via Cronofy in anticipation of future calendar integration functionality, but currently, we do not directly modify a user's calendar, opting instead to send calendar invites via email.
What happens to the data on the calendar if the user removes the ability to sync?
Currently, the information remains in the system, but no longer receives any updates.
Calendar Integration Types
What types of calendar integrations are available?
Individual and bulk integrations are available.
Individual integrations allow specific users to integrate their individual calendars, whereas bulk integration allows an administrator to set up a single integration that connects all ClearCompany users' calendars for scheduling visibility.
At this time bulk calendar integrations are all-or-nothing for an organization. However, the integration simply allows recruiters to add an interview to a user’s calendar. If a user doesn’t need to do any interviewing, they’ll probably not even realize the integration exists.
If I’m using O365 can I use GraphAPI?
Yes, we use GraphAPI to connect your work Calendars with ClearCompany securely to make scheduling interviews for your recruiters easier. With security in mind, we provided the GraphAPI connection type so that you can manage your integration from the MS Administration Console, giving you complete control over the configuration of your solution and allowing you to be in alignment with your organization's security policies.
How can I check if Bulk Calendar Connect is enabled for my organization?
If you are an IT Administrator, you will be able to see Calendars as an option in Tools Setup, shown below. If you do not have IT Admin permission in the ClearCompany application, reach out to your IT admin or ask your ClearCompany Representative.

What security/compliance documentation can you provide regarding this calendar syncing?

I have enabled the optional security setting but now I can't see my own calendar events. Why is this?
We use a third-party application, Cronofy, for our Bulk Calendar Connect feature set. This added security setting restricts Cronofy's ability to view any information about an individual's calendar events beyond the times and dates of those events. As a result, that information will not displayed for any user in ClearCompany, even the user who owns the calendar.
Why can't I disable these settings as indicated in the instructions?
If you do not have IT Admin permission in the ClearCompany application and/or your company does not have Bulk Calendar Connect enabled, you will not be able to toggle these settings.

Events created in ClearCompany:
- All information is seen and stored.

Events not created in ClearCompany:
- Event ID, title, description, scheduled start/end date/time, status, public vs. private, all-day event status, and location.
- Attendees Name, Email Addresses for attendees, organizer/attendee/optional, and response status from attendees.

All stored data is stored: for 30 days. After this time, event data is deleted.
Interviews
Is there a way in the multi-interviewer scheduler to add a second in-person or virtual link if the interviewers are scheduled at the same time?
At this time this cannot be done.
The interview link expires after 72 hours. Is that a running clock or business day hours?
It's actual hours, it is set for 72 hours to span to get across the weekend.
