Hire Eligibility Overview
Hire Eligibility allows HR teams to make informed decisions during former employee and candidate sourcing, evaluation, and hiring. It is typically set at employee termination for existing employees or during screening and interviewing for new candidates. Hire eligibility now introduces standardized justification reasons when marking someone as ineligible for hire or rehire. When updating hire eligibility, the following statuses are available:
- Eligible
- Not recommended
- Not eligible
If your organization requires justification, recruiters must also provide a reason when selecting Not recommended or Not eligible.
Predefined justification values
When Hire Eligibility Justification Values is enabled, recruiters can select one of the following reasons:
- Employee policy violation or misconduct
- Application integrity
- Candidate misconduct
- Performance
- Other
At this time, predefined values cannot be customized.

- Employee record
- Candidate profile
- Future candidacies linked to the same profile

Comments
If I save a status and then later want to remove it, how do I do this? It seems to only let me choose another eligibility type but not let me clear it.
Hey Kristina, at this time, once the hire eligibility is set, it cannot be cleared completely. I have added this as a feature request as something that would improve the feature.
