Why add videos to applications?

Clear Communication of Company Culture

Videos can effectively convey the company's culture, values, and work environment, helping candidates to better understand if they would be a good fit for the organization.

Engaging Introduction to the Role
A video can offer a dynamic and engaging introduction to the job role, explaining responsibilities, expectations, and the impact the role has within the company. This can be more impactful than text descriptions alone.
Personal Connection
Videos featuring current employees or leadership can create a personal connection with candidates, making the application process feel more human and less transactional.
Highlight Benefits and Perks
Videos can be used to highlight employee benefits, perks, and professional development opportunities, making the company more attractive to potential candidates.
Time Efficiency
Videos can reduce the need for lengthy written descriptions and FAQs, saving time for both candidates and recruiters by providing comprehensive information quickly and efficiently.

Hosting the Video

To embed a video within your application, the video must be hosted online. Popular platforms for hosting videos include YouTube and Vimeo. This guide will focus on these two sites, but if your video is hosted elsewhere, you will need to refer to that specific site's instructions for obtaining the Embeddable Video URL.

Note:

The video must be accessible online via an Embeddable Video URL. It cannot be just a file stored on your computer.

F.A.Q.

How can I test if the video is working properly?

The best way to make sure the video is playing properly is to test out your application with a test candidate. Check out this article.

How to troubleshoot if a video isn't playing/displaying properly?

Videos won't play if there are restrictions in the video where a site has to be added. For example, in Vimeo, if there is an issue you would need to add ClearCompany under allowed domains, (see below).LinkedIn Allowed Domains.png
