Follow

The Newsfeed is the feed of updates and comments (primarily used for Goal Alignment) that appears on every user's Dashboard (Home Page).

Where it is:

You can access the newsfeed by clicking on the company logo in the upper left-hand corner of the platform. This will take you to your Home page.

What the Newsfeed is used for

The newsfeed is accessible to all Goal Alignment users. It is primarily intended for:

  • A news feed for public goal status updates
  • A place for people to comment on others' goal progress and share encouragement
  • A place to post statuses and general comments outside the scope of an individual goal update

How to I control what shows up here?

By default, things like status updates for public goals will show up for everyone - but depending on individual goal visibility (such as restricted goal privacy) and other system settings (such as who sees manager feedback), only certain users can see certain updates.

You can control who sees what in Setup.

In setup, click on Notifications under Organization Setup on the right-hand side.

Toggle visibility for Goal Updates

Under the goals section, you can click on any of the goal update options (such as When a Goal is Created).

You will want to pay attention to the visibility options for the Add to Activity Feed column. This will allow you to control which users get updates in their newsfeed for different goal updates and actions for the goal owner in question.

  • Note: These will apply to all goals users.
  • Note: Goal privacy settings will override this system setting. For instance: Even if we select "everyone" here, private goals will not show up in this feed for anyone except the goal owner.

Toggle visibility for other posts

You can toggle what shows up in the newsfeed for other posts as well - for instance, if someone posts a separate status update. This lives under the Newsfeed section at the bottom of the Alerts & Notifications page.
