Follow the guide below to easily set up and manage your Checkr account using the integration with ClearCompany Recruiting.
Before you Get Started: Permissions
To run background checks, you will need Recruiter and Background Check permission enabled for your user profile prior to running the check. Follow the next steps to ensure you have the appropriate permissions enabled.
1. Head to Setup in your Tools menu.
2. Under Organization Setup on the right-hand side, click Users.
3. Use the search function to find your own profile. On your profile, click User Setup.
4. Scroll to permissions and ensure you have both Recruiter and Background Checks enabled.
5. If you had to enable these permissions, you will want to update your user details to save the changes, then log out and log back in for the changes to take place.
Account Setup
1. Head to a candidate profile of your choosing. You will want to find yourself on the front page of the profile.
2. Scroll to the Background Check section and click Start Background Check.
- Or select the Actions dropdown and click Start Background Check.
3. Select Checkr from the list of options.
4. You will then be directed to Sign in or Sign Up.
- If you have an existing Checkr account, you can use the Sign In option to input your existing login credentials to log in.
- If you want to create a new Checkr account, click Sign Up.
5. Create Account: Input the requested information to create an account.
6. Payment Information: Input credit card information - this is the method in which your background check payments will be processed.
- Note: The bill will come directly from Checkr, not ClearCompany. You can change your billing information at any time in the Checkr dashboard.
- Your card will not be charged upon submitting this information. The card on file is only charged when a candidate’s background check request has been submitted. See the next section for more details on invoice and billing.
7. Verification: Provide information about your business in order to get credentialed. Credentialing is required by law as only legitimate companies can run background checks for pre-employment purposes.
8. When you are done, click Submit.
Important!
After you complete the above 3-part process, there is still one more step to complete the integration. There is nothing that you will need to do on your side. Once the information is submitted, Checkr begins the credentialing process. Credentialing is usually instant and you can get started with background checks right away. If there is a mismatch of information, credentialing can take 1-2 days. Either way, you will receive an email when the credential is verified and the integration is complete.
