A candidate who starts an application within the ClearCompany system can return to the application (or access the candidate portal) if they need to update or finish the application. In this article, we cover the candidate experience and how candidates can access their application and/or candidate portal.

Candidate Magic Links

Candidate Magic Links simplify candidate access to their applications enhancing the user experience and making it easy for candidates to access and refresh their job applications. Now candidates will be able to access their account simply through the use of their email address. No password is required. Overview

Candidates will be able to access their accounts without needing to remember a password. Candidates will log in to their portal using an email and can access their existing applications.

When the candidate returns to their application, the candidate is prompted to enter their email address. An email is immediately sent to that address. The email contains a link the candidate can click that will take them to their intended destination without requiring any further authentication.

Keep in Mind

  1. If the email hasn't been used and 15 minutes have passed, the link will expire. Attempting to use the expired link will immediately send a new email with an updated link to the candidate's inbox.
  2. If the email entered does not correspond to any candidate account, no email will be sent. For security reasons, there will be no notification to the person entering the email address if they don't have a candidate account.
  3. If the candidate wishes to use a username and password to log in to their application, they can still do that but it will be a secondary option.

Candidate Experience

Below is the candidate's experience when they need to return to an application.

  1. When the candidate returns to the application or candidate portal, they will be prompted to enter the email they used to apply. Note: A candidate can choose to sign in with a username and password by clicking that instead.Enter Email.png
  2. They will receive the confirming screen below, alerting them that they have 15 minutes to access the link.Resend.png
  3. From their email, they will get a link to view/edit their application.Email.png

Troubleshooting & F.A.Q.

If a candidate is having issues not seeing the email:

  1. We recommend they check their spam/junk folder.
  2. We recommend double-checking this candidate does have a candidate profile. If they do not have one it means they did not apply. If they did apply, double-check they are using the proper email to update their application.
