Apply Overview
Apply with Job Boards allows an applicant with a profile on a job board to submit their candidacy, including resume and cover letter, within the job board. Apply can be enabled for the following Job Boards:
- Indeed
- Glassdoor
- Monster
- ZipRecruiter
- LinkedIn Apply Connect
To enable or disable Apply for any of the boards listed above, reach out to ClearCompany.
Glassdoor, Monster, ZipRecruiter, Apply
For Glassdoor, Monster, and ZipRecruiter, the application process is divided into two sections. The applicant will be prompted to complete their application, but can choose to bypass this step, resulting in an applicant with no complete application on file.
- When Apply is turned off, the candidate is redirected to your career site.
Indeed Apply
Indeed Apply allows organizations to share the entire application with Indeed for candidates to complete the application within Indeed and send the information to ClearCompany. Below are the application question types that are supported:

Indeed Apply Considerations
- Indeed Apply allows organizations to send Screener or Knockout application questions.
- Once the application is completed, the candidate will be sent to ClearCompany, where knockout rules will be applied based on candidate responses.
- Candidates whose application passes the knockout rules will be displayed in ClearCompany.
- Candidates who do not pass the knockout rules are not displayed in ClearCompany.
- Indeed Apply will also send demographic questions to Indeed. The following fields are sent to Indeed for an applicant to complete:
Disability Status
Gender
Race/Ethnicity
Veteran Status Pre-Offer
Gender Identity
Sexual Orientation
Transgender Identity
Disability Status Post-Offer
Expanded Ethnicity
- Auto-grading questions will be completed in Indeed Apply and graded within ClearCompany.
- These candidates are not required to complete a full application process and may appear as candidates in your ClearCompany requisition with just a resume file attached. If an application has marked questions as required, candidates will not be able to submit the application without answering those questions, regardless of whether or not they include a resume file.
- For Two-Step applications, questions from the Pre-Screen and Initial sections of the apply process form are sent to Indeed.
- Questions from the Detailed section are omitted for two-part applications.
- Applications containing Embedded Forms, Videos, and Third-Party Assessment Tests, are not supported for Indeed Apply. If you would like to include these question types in your application, we recommend creating a Two-Part application and including these in the 2nd part.
- Applications with Multiple Languages are not supported by Indeed Apply - if an application with multiple languages is sent to Indeed, it will be displayed in English only.
Indeed Apply Candidate Experience
Prospective applicants can find your posted jobs either through a direct keyword search or by visiting the Jobs tab of an Indeed Company page.
When a candidate has decided to apply, they will use the Apply button to begin the application process. The following process steps will depend on the apply method set on the Indeed job post.
| Upon clicking "Apply Now," candidates must first confirm their location details. | |
|
Resume Upload: Next, candidates are prompted to upload their resume. |
|
|
Application Questions: Following the resume upload, candidates will answer application questions, including contact information, work experience, and additional relevant inquiries integrated into the initial application section. |
|
|
Upon completion, candidates proceed by clicking "Continue." |
|
|
Voluntary Self-Identification: Depending on the application, candidates may be asked to provide voluntary self-identification information. |
|
|
Race and Gender (if applicable): Candidates might also be required to fill out race and gender information. |
|
|
Application Review: Once finished, applicants can review their submissions, including any employer-specific questions. |
|
|
Submission: After review, candidates submit their applications. |
|
|
Application Processing: Submitted applications are forwarded to ClearCompany, where Knockout rules are applied. Qualified applicants will then appear in ClearCompany as candidates. |
|
|
Applicants can also save the application process and finish it at any time within 14 days. |

F.A.Q.
In cases where Apply is enabled and the candidate doesn’t complete all required sections (where applicable), they will still be submitted to ClearCompany with often just a resume.
Indeed Apply supports a specific set of question types, and not all fields from your ClearCompany application may transfer. For full customization, consider using Two-Part applications or directing candidates to your career site.
If required questions are marked in the application setup, candidates won’t be able to submit the application via the job board unless those are completed. However, if a job board doesn’t support certain question types (e.g., embedded videos, custom fields), candidates may bypass them unless you redirect them to a second part of the application.
Yes. ClearCompany captures the source of each applicant, including whether they came through a job board using Apply. This can help you monitor the performance of each platform and optimize your sourcing strategy.
At this time, the WOTC redirect is not supported.
Indeed is automatically moving any Voluntary Self-Identification questions to a second "page" in their application process, which means that candidates would answer all other application questions, sign and date, continue to the next page, and then fill out the Voluntary Self-Identification questions.
If clients have their own questions in the application labeled "Voluntary Self-Identification," it will remain on the first page, while the rest of the Self ID questions live on the second page.
