What is Indeed?

Indeed is one of several job sites integrated with ClearCompany for automated and free postings from your account. This integration allows you to source job seekers from job sites like Indeed and interact with them directly in the ClearCompany ATS. There are no extra costs associated with posting directly to Indeed. You can also sponsor your post directly from ClearCompany or with Indeed directly at a cost.

Integration Details

ClearCompany has a direct integration with Indeed's US and international job board sites. This integration allows you to post jobs created in ClearCompany directly to Indeed for free, while supporting paid sponsorship and Indeed Easy Apply features.

Your organization will need to have the Job Board Feeds setting enabled at an account level in order to post on 3rd party sites like Indeed. This setting is typically enabled after implementing ClearCompany. Please reach out to your ClearCompany Representative if you are unsure of this setting's status.

How your jobs are posted on Indeed?

It is strongly suggested to review Indeed's Posting Guidelines when building your requisition to ensure that your posting details do not get flagged by any spam or violation filters on the Indeed.com website.

Posting to Indeed

Once a requisition is successfully opened in ClearCompany, a user with Recruiter permission can post the requisition to integrated job sites. By selecting the Public Job Board option, a predefined set of requisition details is communicated to ClearCompany’s integrated job boards (such as Indeed) through a job feed.

Indeed Sponsored Posts- Pricing Explanation

Indeed's paid job posts, called Sponsored Posts, use a Pay-Per-Click pricing model. which is different from most sponsorships for other 3rd-party job sites. Sponsored jobs on Indeed have better visibility in search results and are used to attract top applicants. ClearCompany partners with JobTarget to offer automated job site sponsorships for various job sites, including Indeed. With Job Posting: 1-to-Many Locations, only the default location can be sponsored.

Overview

On ClearCompany's Requisition Posting Options page, an Indeed Sponsored Post can be purchased at $450 USD of pre-loaded pay-per-click credits. The purchase and creation of this sponsored post are managed by JobTarget, ClearCompany's partner for advanced job posting solutions.

Determining Cost-Per-Click

While the total amount paid daily for clicks is constrained by the daily budget, the cost of individual clicks is managed by a bid optimization tool in Indeed's system. The purpose of this tool is to ensure that jobs receive maximum visibility for the amount you have chosen to spend each day. To accomplish this, the budget responds to fluctuating job seeker traffic throughout the day to increase the amount a client pays for clicks when interest from candidates is highest.

The budget allocation for clicks is not adjustable.

How it works

The total budget of $450 is spread over 30 days. This means that once the daily spend of roughly $37 a day is hit, the ad will not show to applicants until the next day. There are spending fluctuations depending on the day but Indeed will ensure that the budget is live for the course of the 30-day campaign. If a job is filled prior to the 30-day run, the spend cannot be refunded, as it is a fixed purchase credit with Indeed.

  • Indeed's auction model is that the cost-per-click varies with each market, industry, or job type.

Indeed Sponsored Posts F.A.Q.

How do I confirm/check that my purchased post is sponsored on Indeed?
Indeed does not add a visual tag to the jobs indicating whether the post is sponsored or not. Therefore, we recommend connecting with JobTarget, ClearCompany's partner who creates and manages the sponsored posts on job sites, for questions about an Indeed sponsored post you've purchased.
If I hire an employee before the 30-day campaign is over, can I receive a prorated refund for the remaining days?
No, sponsored posts are paid as a fixed credit purchase with Indeed and cannot be refunded in the middle of a campaign.
What counts as a click?

A click occurs when a potential applicant clicks on a sponsored posting to view a job description, regardless of whether they apply to the job.

Indeed Apply Process Options

Indeed offers two apply methods for job posts: Indeed Easy Apply or Apply on Company Site. These methods determine the candidate's application process when they choose to apply to a position.

Overview
Indeed Easy Apply Apply on Company Site

Indeed Easy Apply

Indeed Easy Apply, also referred to as Indeed Apply, allows prospective applicants to quickly share their interest in a position by submitting a minimum set of information such as name, email, and resume. These candidates are not required to complete a full application process and may appear as candidates in your ClearCompany requisition with just a resume file attached.

  1. Candidate records created by this method will have a Source of Indeed and an Applied By method of Indeed Apply listed on the candidate profile.
  2. For details about the candidate's experience using this method, see the menu below.
  3. Please Note:
    1. If you are using Knock-Out Questions when Easy Apply is selected; the candidate won't enter the system when they click Easy Apply.
    2. If the applicant doesn't complete the application they do start getting emails from Indeed asking them to complete the application, but when clicking easy apply they also see language implying that they applied.
    3. If the knock-out question is not answered they’re automatically knocked out. We recommend using auto-grading over knock-out questions when using Easy Apply, unless you want to turn off Easy Apply.
Apply on Company Site

The Apply on Company Site method redirects applicants to your organization's public job listing for the position. These candidates will be prompted to start their application, entering information based on the application template assigned to that Requisition in ClearCompany.

  • Candidate records created by this method will have a Source of Indeed listed on the candidate profile.
  • For details about the candidate's experience using this method, see the menu below.

The designated apply method for Indeed is an account-wide setting, meaning it applies to all posted requisitions, configured on the backend of your ClearCompany system. Please contact your ClearCompany Representative to learn which method is right for your organization's needs and hiring process or to change your selected Indeed Apply Method.

Candidate Experience

Prospective applicants can find your posted jobs either through a direct keyword search or by visiting the Jobs tab of your Indeed Company page.

When a candidate has decided to apply, they will use the Apply button to begin the application process. The following apply process steps will depend on the apply method set on the Indeed job post. Open the menus below to learn more about how each Apply Method changes the candidate's experience.

At this time, an email is also sent to the candidate from Indeed, notifying them to take additional action and complete the application in full by clicking on the included link.

Apply on Company Site - Candidate Experience Details
  1. A candidate locates your job posting on Indeed and clicks the Apply on Company Site button.

Indeed F.A.Q.

How do I create a confidential posting on Indeed?

ClearCompany automatically sends the name of your company to Indeed during the posting process. This company name cannot be removed from the job feed and removing brand labeling or brand information from your posts within ClearCompany will not keep 100% of the organization's information hidden from prospective candidates. Pieces of information like the URL will still show the company name or “Shortname” designated on the ClearCompany platform.

Confidential postings can be created directly from Indeed by following the steps outlined in this article

My posting is on Indeed but not on the correct Company Page

Contact Indeed support directly. This resolution has a few solutions and Indeed can work with you directly to work through those details. Include your ClearCompany representative as needed.

How do I refresh a job posting on Indeed?

Indeed does not permit manual refreshing of job postings within a short time frame. ClearCompany automatically refreshes your job postings on Indeed every 60 days.

How long will it take for one of these jobs to post on Indeed?

Jobs should be posted within 48 hours, as they undergo a review process by Indeed’s Search Quality Team.

How do I get my post to the top of the search results page?

Indeed has its own search algorithm that determines which jobs get displayed in what order, to the specific candidate who is completing the job search. A few factors such as the number of days your position has been opened, and if the job is a paid sponsorship, may impact the ranking of the post.

Indeed will lower job visibility for jobs that do not follow their suggested reposting guidelines or are displaying abusive reposting practices. Click here to learn more about Indeed’s Reposting Guidelines.

Can I customize the fields that are sent to Indeed to create the job post?
