Before getting started with goals in your system, you will want to make sure your Goal Notifications and Goal System Settings are properly configured. This article covers the notification and system settings available to Goal Admins in ClearCo.

Goal Notification Settings
ClearCompany can send a variety of notifications to different users throughout the lifecycle of a goal, project, task, or meeting. Goal Admins can customize these notifications from the Setup menu.
Navigating to Notification Settings

Click Tools, then Setup.

Click Notifications.

Select the notification you wish to view or modify.
- A notification can be sent to the following:
- Activity Feed: Selecting a user from this list will place a notification on the Latest feed for that user.
- Immediate Email: Sends a notification to the user's email address as configured in User Setup. To customize the email template, click Immediate Email (highlighted in blue at the top of the list).
Goal Notification Options
All notifications below can be configured to notify the following recipients: Everyone, Supervisor, Superiors, Peers, Direct Reports, Subordinates, Current Actor, Goal Owner, Goal Followers, and Feedback Providers, unless otherwise noted.

Goals System Setting
To modify your company's Goal notification settings, follow the steps below.

Navigate to Tools and then click Setup.

Click Goal Settings.

Below are the settings you will be able to modify.

| Goal Status Update Reminder Notifications | When enabled, the system will periodically send reminders to users to update the status of their active goals. |
|
| Goal Feedback Reminder Notifications | When enabled, managers receive periodic reminders to provide feedback on direct reports' goals. |
|
| Fiscal Year | Customize your company's fiscal year. Users will be prompted to create new goals at the start of each fiscal year. Note: This setting may affect performance review cycles that include Goal Alignment sections. | Fiscal Year Begins On: Month |
| Manager Feedback | Control whether current managers can view feedback left by previous managers on shared direct reports' goals. | Yes/No |
| Default Goal Visibility | Set the default visibility for newly created goals. Users can still override this when creating or editing individual goals. |
*All goals are visible to the Strategic Alignment assignee and HR Admin in addition to the people selected above. Changes will only be applied to goals created going forward. The visibility settings of existing goals will not be affected. |
FAQ
Active goals will remain available after the fiscal year changes.
To view goals from a different fiscal year, update the fiscal year filter in the goals dropdown menu. Available filter options include:
- Current Fiscal Year
- Next Fiscal Year
- Last Fiscal Year
- All Goals
Selecting the appropriate filter will display the goals associated with that fiscal year.
