What are Tags?

Tags are similar to a custom label and are commonly used to add descriptors to a candidate or user(s) and used in a Search action within the Recruiting or Performance platforms. These tags can be organized in a single non-relational list or in a hierarchal order made up of Parent and Child tags.

Users with the User Admin permission can create and manage the custom tags available for an organization.

F.A.Q.

What are tags used for?

Tags are used as search and filter criteria in Candidate Search and Talent Communities. They can be used to label candidates based on:

  1. Specific skill sets or experience
  2. Roles they may be well-suited for
  3. Locations they are qualified to work at
Where do tags appear?

Tags appear in:

  1. Talent Communities and Advanced Search/Saved Search under Criteria.
  2. Roles and location exist as separate search criteria
  3. Custom tags can be found using the Tags filter
  4. They also show up on the candidate/prospect profile under the Potential Fit For section.
Does tagging happen automatically? Or do they have to be manually assigned to candidates?

Both, prospects and candidates get tagged automatically based on the positions they apply to. For example:

  1. If Gina applies to the Customer Success Manager role in San Francisco, the system automatically assigns her the:
    1. Customer Success Manager role tag
    2. San Francisco location tag.
  2. They can also be tagged manually.
  3. If she's interested in working for more than one office location, more locations tags can be added manually.
  4. In doing so, Gina will now show up as a prospect in Talent Communities whose criteria include the Customer Success Manager team lead role and the other office locations.
How are custom Tags added to candidates?

Custom Tags are manually added to the candidate profiles. For example: we have a tag set up for French Speakers - when a candidate is proficient in French, we tag them as such so they show up in Talent Communities and appear as a potential fit. Learn more: Custom Tags.

Can you bulk-add tags?
