ClearCompany's Recruiting system provides different solutions for automating your background check process. Increase efficiency across your hiring team and reduce the time spent manually initiating orders or updating candidates' statuses based on background check results. Which Actions can be Automated?

There are two different actions of the background check processes that can be automated:

  1. Initiating a Background Check
    • ClearCompany provides the ability to automate the process of initiating the background check upon extending an offer letter to a candidate. 
  2. Managing Candidates Hiring Workflow Status
    • ClearCompany can automatically update a candidate's workflow stage based on their current background check order status and results.

 

Automate Background Checks through Offer Letters

Consider setting up background check automation in your offer letters to cut down on time spent manually initiating the background checks after extending an offer. This automation can be set up on your offer letter templates or assigned ad-hoc during offer letter creation. Adding background check automation at the template level allows you to declare specific background check packages to always be used for a particular role or employment type.

You can set one of the following options to trigger the background check once the action has occurred.

  1. Offer is Approved
  2. Offer is sent to Candidate
  3. Candidate accepts offer

Automate Candidate Workflow Changes

Keeping candidate workflow stages up to date is crucial to staying organized and providing recruiters and hiring managers the ability to quickly identify where a candidate is within the hiring process. Hiring Workflow Automation allows you to configure hiring workflow stages to update automatically based on the status of a candidate's background check. 

To configure the Workflow Automation Settings, navigate to Tools > Setup > Hiring Workflows. Identify a workflow you'd like to add automation to and click Workflow Automation Settings.

Here you can select which stage candidates will be moved forward to in the hiring process, or alternatively dispositioned, depending on the results of the background check. 

For hiring workflow automation purposes, ClearCompany has categorized background check results statuses into the following Macro-Categories: Pending, Complete-Clear, Complete-Needs Review, and Completed. These are the only result categories that can be customized with automation.
