I-9HQ and E-Verify Integration: Setup Guide

ClearCompany's onboarding system integrates with I-9HQ to provide organizations with an advanced I-9 and E-Verify solution. This guide details how to set up and manage the integration.

Adding the I-9 task to new hire packet templates

  1. Open the new hire packet template you'd like to edit. For information on editing an onboarding packet, refer to: How to edit an onboarding packet.
  2. Click Add Item To Packet, located in the top-right. (click image to enlarge.)

  3. Add a Name for this task.
  4. Use the Type dropdown menu to select I9 Completion.

  5. Click Submit to save your changes.

Assigning the I-9HQ app to admin users

The following steps apply to organizations utilizing the most updated version of this integration. If you had the integration enabled after Fall 2025, you are on the latest version. The migration process is listed in I-9HQ Migration & Best Practices.

ClearCompany's I-9HQ, located within the World of Work platform, provides admins with quick access to the I-9HQ platform, where they can complete Section 2 of the Form I-9 and review the status of E-Verify cases. Users with IT Admin permission in ClearCompany can follow the steps below to assign the I-9HQ app to another user.

  1. Navigate to Tools > World of Work.

  2. Click the Usage tab.

  3. In the Employees with Access to App section, click + Add Employee.

  4. Search for the employee's name. When the correct employee (s) appear, click Add Employees.
  5. Once added, the user will be able to go to My Apps and launch Equifax -I9.

Important Notes:

  • A phone number is required in the user's profile to successfully create an I-9HQ account. Users without a phone number listed will not be able to access Equifax I9.
  • If users receive a message stating that they cannot access the app due to a missing phone number, they should add a phone number to their profile and try again.
  • If the issue persists, we recommend removing the user from the Employees with Access to App section, adding the phone number, and reassigning the app by following the steps above.
