Testing an Application Process
Important Information
As you test, keep these things in mind:
- Consider the amount of time it takes to complete an application to ensure a positive candidate experience (if too long, consider a two-step application).
- Type of question - was this the easiest option to get the desired answer or is there a better option?
- Are you asking questions that could be answered in the resume such as work experience?
- Did you receive the email notifications you expected to receive as the recruiter?
- Are emails and notifications being sent out to the candidate?
Test an Application Process
Before you begin testing an application process you will need to have created the below:
- Create a test requisition using your test Apply Process.
- Create Custom Sources and activate it in your test requisition (you might want to create a special 'test' source, so your data stays true).
Testing
- Open a test requisition and click Details then Job Boards.
- Scroll to Custom Sites and click Copy Link to copy an application URL.
- Paste the link into your browser and hit Enter - this will take you to your application.
- To begin the application process, you will need to provide an email address- make sure this is an email address you have access to so you can see candidate communication appear in an inbox.
- Pro Tip: When testing the system, use a temporary mail service, such as this one. You'll be able to check the emails going to your applicant, without bogging up our own email Inboxes. Think ahead - you'll get reminder emails for performance reviews, interview scorecards, goals, and more.
- Find your applicant in your ClearCompany Recruiting inbox.
- If your application is a two-step, send your applicant to the Details section.

Too complicated to understand, could have made it easier by posting webinar
Hi Kalpana,
That's great feedback - thank you for letting us know. We will work on making these materials more accessible and easier to understand.
In the meantime, I would recommend clicking on the Support button in the lower left-hand corner of the application (or this page) and having a member of our support team walk you through the process.
Best,
Isabel
