Update a Candidate Workflow (Disposition or Move Forward)

Follow

Follow the guide below to move your candidates through your hiring process. You can do this by updating their workflow stage - either to disposition them or to move them forward in the process.

What is a hiring workflow?

A hiring workflow is a series of stages that reflect the stages of a recruiting process - from the time a candidate submits the application to the time they are either hired or dispositioned.

As your candidates move through your hiring process, you can use this series of stages as a labeling system to keep track of who's where.

Do workflow stage updates happen automatically? Or do I have to update them manually?

Some stage updates can be performed automatically - like when you send an email using a pre-built email template, or initiate a background check or offer letter. Otherwise, you and the hiring team can perform these actions manually from the candidate profile.

How to...

1. On the candidate's profile, you will see two buttons at the top of the screen: Disposition and Move Forward.

2. To move a candidate forward in the process, click Move Forward and select the stage you wish to move them into.

  • Example: If I have a new applicant, I might move them from "New Applicant" to "Phone Screen" when I am ready to schedule a phone screen with them.

3. To disposition the candidate, click Decline and select a disposition reason.

  • Example: If I have a candidate decline an interview, I would move them into my "Declined Phone Screen" disposition stage.

Any changes you make to workflow will update automatically.

How do I customize my workflow?
