View an Employee's Career Timeline with Journey

Users with the HR Admin permission can visit an Employee's Journey page to get a visual representation of their career within your company. Role and pay changes, performance reviews, prior employment, and shoutouts are shown in an easy-to-read format with links to view their associated pages within ClearCompany.

What is Employee Journey?

The Employee Journey will show events and milestones that play into an employee’s engagement which are key points of visibility to help leaders engage their employees. This will help the HR admin visualize the data from the different parts of our platform for employees.

Accessing the Employee Journey Page

  1. Navigate to an employee's profile page and click on the Journey tab.

      HR Admin user's can navigate to Me > Journey to view their own Employee Journey.

  2. At the top, just below the navigation tabs, you will see how long the employee has been with your organization.
  3. Below that, you will be able to view the employee's career starting with their Current Role and moving back in time to their Past Roles.

Employee Journey Event Details

The event types below are displayed on the Employee Journey page. Clicking on the name of the event will provide a link to the relevant page and may also provide you with some highlighted information about the event.

Role Change

The role changes can be seen by the organized 'Current' and 'Past' Role sections. Role_Change.png

Compensation Change
It will display a "Pay Change" which can be clicked to display new and previous salaries. Comp_Change.png
Performance Review
It will display only completed reviews, which can be selected and navigated to.Performance_Review.png
Hired Date
It will display the latest hired date. When someone is terminated and rehired we will only show the person’s most recent hired/terminated dates. Hired_Date.png
Shoutouts
It will display that a shoutout was received it can be selected to display what the shoutout mentioned and who provided it. Shoutout.png
Prior Employment
This will show a complete employee Journey map, including past and current roles. See below for more information. Prior.png

Prior Employment Information

Previous Roles

It will show previous roles before the employee was working with their current employer.

Information

This information will come from the resume and application the person submitted during the application process. For the application, Standard Fields must be used. This also is updated with the ADP sync. Application.png

Duplicate Roles
It will not show duplicate roles and roles will only show once. If there are no dates it will be indicated as well. It will differentiate between companies if the same role was held.
Prior Employment Section
This information is referenced directly from the Previous Employment section of the employee profile. Prior_Employment.png
User Admin and HR Admin
Previous employment can be updated on the employee profile. A user with the User Admin and HR Admin can update this in Tools>Setup>User Selecting the User>View Profile and Editing the “PRIOR EMPLOYMENT HISTORY” section. They can also navigate to the Employee Profile and select "Edit Profile". Edit_Profile.png

 

FAQs

  1. Why is the Journey tab missing on a colleague's profile?
    • The Journey tab is only visible to users who have the correct permission levels of HR Admin. Contact your ClearCompany Administrator to check your permission levels.
  2. Why does the Journey card say "This user doesn't have a role or position"? 
    • The employee does not have a Role assigned or a Title listed on their ClearCompany user account. To resolve this message, edit the employee's account details to add a Role and Title.  Error_2.png

  3. Why is there an exclamation mark on the Journey card?
    • If an employee does not have a Role assigned but has a Title listed, the Title name will appear on the Journey card in place of the role. Assign the user a Role to update the name that appears.Error_3.png 

  4. I'm seeing an error about incomplete employee information. What does this mean?
    • A warning will appear on the Journey page if the selected user is missing the minimum amount of position data (Hire Date) on their employee record. Update the employee's employment details to begin building their career timeline on this page.
