ClearCo Compensation Management empowers organizations to manage pay planning with speed, accuracy, and transparency. Whether organizations are preparing for annual salary adjustments or managing off-cycle bonuses and promotions, our platform helps ensure compensation decisions are fair, consistent, and aligned with business goals. This article will cover the basics of accessing the platform, logging in for the first time, navigating the dashboard, and understanding where key tasks are performed.

Compensation Management Overview

ClearCo Compensation Management integrates with your existing HR and performance tools. Designed for HR professionals, finance teams, and managers, it streamlines compensation planning processes and replaces outdated spreadsheet-based workflows. With Compensation Management, you can:

  • Log in securely using standard credentials or single sign-on (SSO).
  • Access compensation planning tools and reports.
  • Submit salary, promotion, adjustment, and bonus recommendations.
  • View dashboards and analytics to support compensation decisions

Accessing Compensation Management

You can access Compensation Management in one of two ways, depending on your organization’s configuration.

Access from ClearCo using SSO

If your organization has enabled SSO integration, eligible users can launch Compensation Management directly from ClearCo without signing in separately.

The following users may have access: HR Admins, User Admins, and Hiring Managers with manager access enabled (IsMgr). To access Compensation Management from ClearCompany:

  1. Log in to ClearCo.
  2. Navigate to Tools > Compensation.

If SSO is enabled and your account is configured correctly, you will be signed in automatically.

Note

To set up SSO, reach out to: compensation-support@clearcompany.com. If it has been set up and you do not see the Compensation option under Tools, contact your ClearCo administrator to confirm your permissions.


Access using direct login

If your organization does not use SSO, you will receive login credentials or a direct access link from your administrator.

To access Compensation Management:

  1. Navigate to the Compensation Management link provided.
  2. Enter your username and password (or use SSO if configured).CWS Login.png
  3. Click Login to access the dashboard.

Important:

For your protection, sessions will automatically time out after a period of inactivity. Log out when finished to protect sensitive data.


First-Time Logging In

If this is your first time accessing Compensation Management:

  1. Follow the link provided by your administrator.
  2. You'll be prompted to create a secure password (unless using SSO).
  3. Set your personal preferences (such as preferred currency).
  4. Complete any required security questions.
  5. Select Submit to finish setup.
Forgot Password

If you’ve forgotten your password:

  1. Click the Forgot Password link on the login screen.Forgot Password.png
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Follow the instructions sent to your inbox to reset your password securely. The password recovery email mentions UnitySuite.
  4. If SSO is enabled, contact your IT department for password assistance.
  5. After logging in with your temporary password, you will be redirected to a page to enter your temporary password, enter a new password, and fill out your security questions. Users must fill out the questions to be able to submit the password change form.Password Guidelines.png

Compensation Management Dashboard

After logging in, you can use the top navigation menu to move between sections. The Home page includes:

  • Budget Information
  • Important dates and notifications
  • Important Links
  • Language Options

Select Home at any time to return to the main dashboard.

Your People menu

The Your People menu includes:

Option Description
Home Returns users to the Home screen view from any other screen within the system.
Comp Recommendations

Comp Recommendations opens the main recommendations screen, where users can enter performance ratings, salary increase, adjustment, promotion, and bonus recommendations for eligible employees.

  • Users will also be able to access employee compensation statements, if applicable, when the tool is reopened after the approval process is complete.
  • A summary of the increase and bonus recommendations for the employees in view is automatically calculated on the recommendations screen. This will update depending on the employee list selected for view.
Preferred Currency Preferred Currency opens the personal preference currency selection screen. When multiple currencies are in use, the system allows users to select a Preferred currency to display amounts within the system.
Act on behalf of Act on Behalf of allows users the ability to view the system from the point of view of your subordinate managers (where applicable).

Reports

Compensation Management includes reports to support budgeting, planning, auditing, and analysis.

Option Description
Admin - Show Log

Users can select to view log reports of actions performed in the system based on user actions. Below are the logs available to Admin users:

  • All
  • Change Log
  • Welcome Email Log
  • Login Log
  • Submitted Log
  • Comp Statements Print Log
  • SSO Logs
Report Notification Emails This feature allows emails to be drafted and sent from the tool.
Reports

ClearCompany Compensation Management provides downloadable reports to support budgeting, tracking, and auditing compensation planning activities. The following reports are available to users based on their permission level:

  • Comp Recommendations Export to Excel: Exports a list of the compensation recommendations fields in an Excel report for a manager's direct/indirect reports.
  • Admin - Comp Recommendations Export to Excel: Available to system administrators, this report provides a full export of all users' compensation recommendations across the organization. This could include additional data fields not shown in the user-level export and is often used for audits and final reviews.
  • Comp Recommendations - Summary Detail: Delivers a detailed, line-by-line breakdown of compensation recommendations per employee, including both current and proposed pay elements. This report is ideal for in-depth analysis of trends, equity across teams, or budget comparisons.
  • Admin - Access Audit Report - Provides details of who the system sees as a report to manager, Can Login access, IsLocked status, and User Roles is assigned.
View Dashboard Charts ClearCompany Compensation Management includes interactive dashboards to help you visualize key compensation trends. These charts provide real-time insights to support data-driven decisions around equity, performance, and pay allocation. For example, Charts by Gender, Ethnicity, Rating, and Salary.

Administrator Tools

Note:

The following options tabs are for Admin users of the system and will only appear with users with the correct permissions.


Employee Admin

Option Description
Select Employee View all employees in the system.
Edit Employee The Edit Employee allows Admins the ability to make changes to employee data that has been uploaded or needs to be updated during the cycle.
User Roles Update the roles in the system and update the permissions that they have.
Regional Admin Setup This is the creation of an employee group that a RegHR can see (location, organization, manager).
View Archived Data Archive Data is a copy of the database created as of a given date, which will store all database fields that are in use, along with the employees’ corresponding data and the compensation statement templates and conditions in use at the time the archive is created. Once the archive has been created, employees and admins can view data.

Company Admin

Option Description
* Welcome Email If a client is NOT using SSO, this is how the user name and first-time login credentials are sent.
Region Table Provides a table of all the regions in the system. 
Location Table Provides a table of all the locations currently in the system.
Department Table Provides a table of all the departments in the system.
Organization Table This is a table that maps a company's organization names and codes.
Other Master Tables Other Master Tables are used to store and sort data points for lookups in the business rules. The Master Tables are needed during implementation to sort and store data points.

Import/Export

Option Description
Import/Upload Data Users can import and update employee data using one of the import templates provided. 
Employee Mass Edit Users will select one of the Employee Editable Fields and will be able to update it for all users. Employee Mass Update can be used if all employees are being updated with the same values. For example, Can Login = Yes.

Sys Admin

Option Description
QuickStart Setup Used as the command center for the system setup and configuration.
TalentComp Cycle Administration

Manage and update cycle-specific parameters, such as:

  • Start and end dates
  • Open and close the User role access to the tool
Maintain Groups Manage and assign user access groups, which may define visibility, workflows, and permission levels. Commonly used to control which managers see which employees or departments outside of the normal reporting hierarchy. 
Maintain Menu Customize which menu items are visible to each user group. This can be tailored by role (e.g., hiding Admin tabs for managers). Ensures a clean, relevant user interface for different personas.
Company Preferences

Define system-wide preferences like:

  • Default display currency
  • Date/time formatting
  • System-wide messaging
  • Global workflow settings
System Permissions

Configure which user roles have access to which features. Examples:

  • Who can import/export data
  • Who can act as an approver
  • Who can view audit logs or run specific reports
Data Map Search Search and validate how data from external sources (e.g., HRIS, performance systems) maps into TalentComp fields. Helpful for troubleshooting or verifying integrations.
Maintain JobMaster Table Add, update, or deactivate job titles and job codes used in compensation cycles. This ensures job-based compensation guidance (e.g., salary bands) is aligned with organizational structure.
Manage Logo Upload and manage the company logo that appears throughout the system. Typically shown on dashboards, compensation statements, and login pages.
Config Home/Landing Page Customize content shown on the user's home page, including announcements, gadgets (e.g., budget summaries), and layout.
Config Important Links (Home Page)

Manage and organize the list of important links or documents displayed on the home page. Frequently used to link to:

  • Compensation policy documents
  • Training materials
  • FAQ articles
Manage Translations Maintain translated versions of system text and custom content for organizations operating in multiple languages.
Config Sign In Page

Customize the login screen content, such as:

  • Login instructions
  • Branding
  • Support contact information
Manage Dashboards Create, modify, or delete dashboard views available to users. Define data sets and visual layouts for metrics like budget usage, equity tracking, and completion rates.
Manage Archive

Access and manage historical compensation cycles. Used to:

  • View past decisions
  • Compare trends over time
  • Prepare for audits
Configure Data Feed Set up automated data feeds from your HRIS or other source systems to regularly update employee, job, or performance data. Critical for maintaining real-time data accuracy.
Configure SSO

Set up and maintain Single Sign-On authentication. Includes:

  • Identity provider setup (e.g., Okta, Azure AD)
  • SAML configuration
  • Metadata exchange
  • Access rules for SSO users
