If your organization has any active Absorb users, you will need to ensure the username for the existing users in Absorb match their username in ClearCompany. If these values do not match, duplicate accounts will be created for them in Absorb when they SSO into the Absorb app.
First name, last name, and department external ID do not need to match to align existing Absorb users, but we recommend doing so for continuity purposes and to avoid any potential confusion across accounts.
- Log into Absorb as a System Admin (all access user) or an Admin with permissions to edit users
- Click the 2 person icon on the left of the dashboard and click Users
- In the list of users, click the list icon to the left of the Last Name header
- Select Last Name, First Name, Username and Department to filter the list and deselect any other options
- You can export the list of Absorb users in a CSV if there are many users to align using the following steps:
- Click the page icon to the left of the printer icon and select either Excel or CSV (CSV is recommended)
- Click Generate after selecting file type
- Click View Generated Reports
- Click the gear icon on the left of the dashboard and click Generated Reports
- Check the correct report and click Download Report at the top, right of the dashboard
Once you have your list of users in Absorb, you can compare this list to your users in ClearCompany.
- Head to Tools > Setup and then Users under Organization Setup
- Click ADD USER or for bulk importing select IMPORT DATA > Users at the top, right-hand corner of the User Setup page
- To view a list of all your active ClearCompany users, export a CSV for side by side comparison by clicking Export Users to CSV and select Active Users Only
- You will receive the CSV via email
- After comparing user information, make changes for any discrepancies between users accounts either in Absorb or ClearCompany¹
- If a majority of Absorb users do not exist in ClearCompany, you can import the list of Absorb users using a bulk user import OR
- If the users exist in ClearCompany, but there are too many users to edit individually then a bulk user update can be completed
¹ Please note that if your organization has ADP as a System of Record for ClearCompany departments, you will need to edit a user's department in ADP for their ClearCompany account. Usernames can still be edited in ClearCompany.
