Hosting Images in ClearCompany

In order to include an image in a signature, offer letter, or onboarding packet, you will need to have the image hosted somewhere retrievable by URL. If you do not have one hosted, ClearCompany can host an image for you. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about how to host an image on ClearCompany.

Hosting vs. Uploading

Within the ClearCompany system, you will notice that you cannot upload an image file when attempting to add an image. There are some important reasons for this:

1. Reason 1: Hosting allows for more cost-efficient storage, allowing us to host more information within the system and scaling as we and our clients grow. 
2. Reason 2: Uploading files would require costly development work and consistent system updates to ensure proper functionality. It would also require us to store the image files on our servers instead of utilizing the benefits of cloud storage.
3. Reason 3: Rich Text formatting often utilizes a URL source, thus hosting removes the need to translate an image file to a source URL for the HTML code to use.

For these reasons, we allow you to include an image on the platform only via a URL for the image.

How to Host an Image

ClearCompany is able to host your image on our cloud and provide you with a URL to use when adding the image to your system.

If you would like to utilize this follow the steps below:

1. Ensure that the image file that you have is saved in either a .jpg or .png file type.
2. Send a request to your Implementation Manager, Client Success Manager, or Support with the image file.
3. You will then receive a reply with the URL for the image that is now hosted on our cloud that you can use in the various places in the system where you can include an image.

If you have your own image hosting site (Google Photos, Dropbox, Flickr, etc.), you can input the URL associated with the image you wish to include in the URL box when adding an image.

Where can I add a Hosted Image?

Images can be added in the following locations:

Requisition Job Description Please Note: Images will be stripped out by the Job Boards so it's a best practice to stick to simple text formatting for the job description. If you do add an image, it will only display in your career site.	Tools> Recruiting> Requisitions> Select your Requisition> Details

How to add a Hosted Image?

Add Image

1. To add an image, you will click the icon that looks like this,     which will open the following window:
2. You will enter the URL to the hosted image in the box titled URL, and add the Text you want to be associated with the image (for screen readers).
3. If the image is not the correct size, you can resize it by editing the Height and Width, you will see a preview on the right-hand side.
4. Double-click on the photo then edit the height and width dimensions of the image and click OK to save until you reach the ideal size.
