ClearCompany Learning allows users to create custom Certificates for Learning Objects enhancing the learner experience through internal motivation and compliance tracking. Certificates can be tailored for various courses and purposes, supporting users in achieving educational milestones or meeting mandatory requirements. In this article, we will guide you through accessing the certificate templates, creating or editing a template, and assigning templates to specific learning objects.

Certificate Templates Overview
The Certificate Templates feature provides a central space for creating and managing completion certificates. Users can design multiple certificates, each uniquely suited for specific learning objects.
Navigating to Certificate Templates
- Click Administration.
- Click Settings, then Certificate Templates.
- In the Certificate Templates Dashboard, you can see any previously made/uploaded certificates.
Create Certificate Templates
Please Note:
If uploading an image to use as a background for the template, you do not need to complete the Certificate Builder step.
- From the Certificate Templates Dashboard, click the “+Create Template” button in the upper right-hand corner.
- When creating the custom certificate, you will fill out the fields below:
- Name: Name of the Certificate.
- Owner Group: who has access to edit this template.
- External URL: The External URL is designed to be used if a certificate for that object is hosted somewhere else on the web and you want to link to that external certificate instead of using the Learning platform certificate.
- Pages: The maximum number of pages for certificates is 25.

Certificate Type
- Object: This certificate will be available upon completion of a specific object within the system once assigned.
- Succession Plan: This certificate will be available upon completion of a specific Certification Plan within the system once assigned.
- When done click Save.
- When the window loads, you can click Go to Editor.
- To add a file, click the Choose file button on the bar under Background File
- Note: if you do not have a background file you may still edit and add things to the certificate.
- Valid File Types: (jpg, gif, png, bmp)
- Size: 1.35 minimum width/height ratio (Ex: 1485px/1100px, 1080px/800px, 810px/600px)
- Maximum Width: 1485px
- You will also have to click on the content Top-top Left Position and Content Bottom-Right
Position. This will help the templates know where you want to have the text primarily
showing on the certificate in later steps.
- Click Go to Editor and that will bring you to the page where you can add the templates and position of the HTML spacing.
- Click +Add to add a layout
- Templates: We have two templates available:
- Template One: Certificate with the user’s name and course name preset placeholders.
- Template Two: Certificate with the user’s name, course name, length, and completion date.

- After Selecting a layout, you can preview the certificate using the Preview Changes button in the upper right-hand corner.
- If you want to duplicate this certificate, you can copy the HTML code in the upper right corner. When creating a new certificate, paste the HTML into the same box on the new certificate.

Edit Certificate Templates

To line up the name course with the background picture you can adjust the
Location as well as text size, font, alignment, etc. by clicking on the section you want to
Adjust.- The top bar is how you can edit the text portion of the box.
- The bar on the right-hand side allows you to add new sections, move sections up and down, duplicate a section, or delete a section.
- Lastly, the inside bar allows you to add another row of text in that same area and change the position above or below the main text.

Gear Icon
- If you want to customize the spacing, box size, border, or text of a specific section more in-depth, click the gear icon in this box to bring up the spacing sidebar menu.
- These are for customizing the box size, spacing, border, and text.
- Once you have adjusted your spacing and layout to your preferences you will click Preview in the upper right corner to review that the background and text line up.
- If you want to customize the spacing, box size, border, or text of a specific section more in-depth, click the gear icon in this box to bring up the spacing sidebar menu.
- Click Save Changes in the upper right corner when you are done.
Assign a Certificate to an Object
- From the admin dashboard navigate to Learning Objects > Manage objects.
- Select the object you want to add the certificate to and click the pencil icon to edit the object.
- On the General tab, click Edit.
- Scroll down to the Certificate template drop-down menu.
- Select the certificate template. Scroll to the top and click Save.
- The course will be updated with the chosen certificate listed.
