What is a Company Role?

In order to create roles for your employees, you first have to define your company’s role by establishing its Mission/Vision, Goals, and Values.

A company's Vision and Mission statements answer the "why" of a company's existence.

  • A vision statement answers "We see a world where __________"
  • A mission statement answers "We are on a mission to __________"

Often, the mission and vision are clarified with a set of core company values, competencies, paradigms, or bullet points that help specify why your company exists and how it is set apart.

To set your company's Mission and Vision in the ClearCompany system, you will need to be logged in as the Roles Admin. While anyone in the company can view the mission/vision/company goals at any time, only a user with access to edit company roles will be able to update these.

Company Role & Company Mission and Vision

The value in setting up the company mission and vision is so employees know what those are, and then setting up values and competencies pulls in for reviews no matter what role they have. The role is a feature in ClearCompany that allows you to define the specific function for an individual or for the entire organization.

    2. ClearCompany roles are how we allow you to enter the mission vision and values in the system. This will be visible to employees when they navigate to Company> Goals & Performance. Screenshot 2023-09-27 at 12.23.00 PM.png

Company Role F.A.Q.

What about company goals?

Company goals are synonymous with the CEO's goals. This means whoever has the CEO's permission will be able to set the company goals (their individual goals are considered by the system to be the company goals to which every other user at the organization can align their own).

Where does the company role get articulated?
You will be able to see your Company profile by clicking on Company on the Dashboard. This will live under Goals & Performance Overview.
Who can see this?
Anyone at your organization will be able to see the Company page - its mission, vision, values, and goals. Fun fact: You'll be able to pull Company Values into performance reviews and interview scorecards!
What else do I need to do to complete my Company role setup for Goal Alignment?
Once you have created the Company Role, you will want to give your company goals so your employees have goals to align to! You can do so on behalf of the CEO as a Goals Admin - the CEO will be the owner responsible for updating company goals once they are created, however.
