What are Drip Campaigns?
Drip Campaigns allow recruiters to set up content and cadence for newly added campaigns within Talent Communities. Drip campaigns are a series of automated emails sent to applicants/candidates. Prospects will be able to indicate interest or no interest via the email or text sent and their selection will be accessible to the recruiters managing the campaign. Drip campaigns can be entirely email, entirely SMS, or a mix of both.
Use Cases
- Recruiters and Sourcing Specialists who want to reach out to top former candidates.
- Recruiters and Hiring Managers can gauge if prospects in your Talent Communities are currently interested in positions at your company.
How to Set up
- Click Tools then Recruiting.
- Click Requisitions.
- Select the requisition you would like to create a drip campaign for. Click Prospects.
- In the Sourcing Tab within the requisition, a filtered search can be performed to find prospective candidates to message. Once the search criteria are set, click "Get Started." If a Talent Community Search has been done, you will see the candidates in that campaign.
- From the ClearCompany CRM tab, click Configure Campaign.
- You can start setting up your campaign.
- Email: The first step is to toggle on the Email campaign. If you do not want to use emails you can toggle it off here.
- Email Template: You can select an email template that has already been created. To create an email template you can navigate to Tools>Setup>Email Templates.
- Subject: Type in the Subject of the email.
- Body: You can make changes to the email template or draft a new email, you can also add General Info or Candidate Info, which will populate for the candidates.
- ClearText: If using ClearText, you have the option to toggle on to also text candidates for this campaign.
- Text Template & Text Message: You can also select a text template or draft a new message. To edit or add Text Templates, navigate to Tools > Setup > ClearText (SMS) Templates.
- 2nd Contact: When done with the first contact information, you can add other contacts to follow up with candidates.
- If you would like to add more than three contacts, you can click Add Another.
- If you would like more time, you can save this campaign as a draft and return to it when you are ready.
- After the messaging and schedules have been set for all drip campaign emails and text, click the "Commit and Activate" button.
- A popup will confirm the final edits to your campaign before it saves. If you are satisfied with your campaign, click "Yes, Commit & Activate."
- Now that the campaign is in order, send it out to a few candidates. Use the Modify Criteria filters to narrow your view of candidates. For this example, select all 6 by clicking on the checkbox just below Bulk Actions. Note: Events can't be removed but they can be edited.
- Click Bulk Action, then click Send Campaign.
- These contacts will no longer live in the 'Not Contacted' stage. Click the stage 'In Campaign/Contact' to see more. You can now see that these candidates have received the 1st message in your campaign.
- Search the Candidates that you want to pull into the campaign by clicking "Modify Criteria."
- Using Modify Criteria you have the option to filter out candidates who have already received campaign messages, ensuring they are not overwhelmed.
- Once you have chosen your list of prospects, check the box next to the prospect name and click "Bulk Actions"
- Click "Send Campaign Emails."
- To view the candidates within a campaign, click the "In Campaign/Contacted" workflow stage.
- To see prospects that are not interested, click "Not a Fit/Not Interested."
You can edit the text in a campaign or you can stop the campaign.
- Click on the requisition you have started a campaign for.
- Click Prospects.
- Click View/Edit Campaign.
- You will be able to change the Subject & the Body of the email and the body of the Text Message.
- If you would like to add more contacts you will have to stop the campaign before doing so.
- To stop the campaign, click the down arrow and select Stop Campaign.
- A pop-up window will appear asking to confirm that you would like to start over. A new campaign can be created after a campaign is stopped. Note: Any candidates that are in the Contacted workflow stage will not be sent a new campaign automatically. These candidates would need to be re-added to the new campaign.
Email Drip Campaigns
Email Drip Campaigns allow you to:
- Add up to 5 emails to a campaign
- Email templates can be applied from the Setup Email Templates > Add Template.
- Send the first email as soon as candidates are added to the campaign but an email cadence can be added for emails 2-5. Note that the selection indicates the amount of time between the previous email and the next email in the campaign. Cadence selections include; 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, 21 days, 30 days, 45 days, 60 days, and 90 days.
- Edit and stop a drip campaign.
- Remove users that have opted out of future consideration for future campaigns.
- Include a link to the candidate job portal in the campaign emails, so candidates can opt out of future consideration if they no longer wish to receive campaign emails.
- View which prospects have received emails in Talent Communities.
SMS Messaging in Drip Campaigns
SMS Messaging allows you to send candidates a text message to a drip campaign.
- Recruiters can queue both email and SMS messages simultaneously for candidates.
- SMS messages can only be sent to candidates who have opted-in to receive texts from the organization and have opted-in for future consideration in your application process.
- If a candidate is enrolled in multiple campaigns, their response will be attributed to the most recent campaign message sent.
- Candidates can opt out of all drip campaign messages by either removing themselves from future consideration in the job portal or by texting "stop".

F.A.Q.
Yes, but keep in mind that there are buttons embedded in every email that captures if someone is interested or not interested.
If a candidate responds with "I'm not interested", they will be removed from any campaign messages within that requisition’s drip campaign. If the candidate responds with "Stop", they will be opted out of all of the campaign messages across your org.
It is counted by regular days.
No. We create a new candidacy and the emails or text messages show up there, but not on their old profile.
