Giving employees clear, unambiguous guidance on what it takes to be successful is an essential part of management. As a manager, your goal is to make your employees as productive as they can be. Without direct feedback, it becomes impossible for employees to get better.
ClearCompany makes it easy to provide clear guidance to your employee on what they need to do to accomplish their goals.

How to add feedback
The easiest way to give feedback is to use the Goal Check-in Feature on the Dashboard. This will not only allow you to update your own goals, but to provide feedback on the goals of your direct reports periodically.
- Click Check in Now to make an update.
- You can also access any of the goals of your direct reports by clicking on Team on your Dashboard.
- On the Team Goals page, select the goal under the team member you wish to leave feedback on.
- You will be taken to that goal's page. To leave feedback visible to the employee, you can leave written feedback and select the appropriate grade under Manager Feedback under the goal detail. To leave notes visible only to yourself, click Make it visible only to you, highlighted in blue before posting.
- When you are satisfied, click Leave Feedback.
Grading Goals
Goal grades come from a manager. When a goal receives feedback, the manager can assign a grade at that time.
When grading a goal, you have the following options:
Grade | Description |
None | This means you do not want to assign a grade with this feedback at this time. |
X |
This means the goal is currently not successful. |
A | This means this goal is at 90% and you believe has a 90% chance of success in achieving the outcome. |
B |
This means this goal is at 50-89% and you believe has a 50-89% chance of success in achieving the outcome. |
C | This means this goal has less than a 50% chance of success in achieving the outcome. |
Please Note:
The goal grades can be interpreted per client so the above are just suggestions as to what they could be referenced as.
F.A.Q.
Only you and your direct report (the goal owner) can see grades and feedback.
When you give feedback to an employee on their goals, ClearCompany calculates an overall weighted score that reflects how the employee is currently performing. The score takes into consideration how you grade the goals, the number of goals, and their priority. Pro-Tip: You have the option to leave feedback for your employee without assigning a grade. This will allow you to pass on notes without having that feedback affect their overall score.
